Children’s Fund Foundation

Great joy for young children: the SPECK Pumpen Children’s Fund is donating 8,000 euros to put a sparkle in children’s eyes.
For many decades now, the SPECK Pumpen Children’s Fund Foundation has been committed to promoting the future
, health and equal opportunities of children and young people. Through its foundation, SPECK Pumpen Verkaufsgesellschaft GmbH
primarily supports projects and purchases ‘on its own doorstep’. In December 2022, four public institutions in the Neunkirchen am Sand area each received a donation of 2,000 euros.
Hermann Speck, Managing Director of SPECK Pumpen Verkaufsgesellschaft GmbH, has always been deeply committed to championing the welfare of children and young people. After all, every child in the world should be given a fair chance in life.
As a company firmly rooted in the Neunkirchen am Sand region, SPECK has been actively involved for many years, supporting social and educational institutions through donations, sponsorship activities, corporate volunteering programmes and, indeed, the SPECK Children’s Fund Foundation. This foundation supports sustainable projects designed to tackle the problems faced by children and young people.
Through the 2022 Wish Campaign, SPECK donated a total of 8,000 euros. The AWO ‘Tausendfüßler’ crèche, the primary school in Neunkirchen am Sand, the AWO ‘Villa Fabula’ children’s centre in Speikern and the Lebenshilfe ‘Inklusives Haus für Kinder’ nursery in Rollhofen each received 2,000 euros. The organisations already have specific plans for how they intend to invest the money most effectively for the benefit of the children in their care: everything is included, from wooden indoor vehicles and new football goals for the playground to a playhouse and cosy furnishings for a newly created social area designed to help children settle in.
„Seeing the happy faces of my two children inspired me to set up the SPECK Pumpen Children’s Fund Foundation, so that I could make many more children’s eyes light up.“

On 1 February, Hermann Speck (Managing Director) and Stefan Dörr (Head of Human Resources) were warmly welcomed to the new premises of the AWO ‘Tausendfüßler’ crèche.
Following a tour of the premises, the symbolic cheque was presented to Nataly Kaiser (nursery manager) and Sandra Bräunlein (nursery school manager). The money will be used to purchase new wooden toys for indoor play.
“I think it’s brilliant that SPECK Pumps, as an internationally active company, is so deeply rooted in the region and involved in the local community. We are absolutely delighted by the generous support and the recognition of our work. After all, children are our future,” said Nataly Kaiser.

At Neunkirchen Primary School, the donation will be used to purchase new football goals for the playground.
On 7 February, Christina Strobl (headteacher) accepted the cheque from Hermann Speck and Armin Herger, the two managing directors of SPECK Pumpen Verkaufsgesellschaft GmbH, amidst the beaming eyes of the children.
Mayor Jens Fankhänel was also present at the handover and is delighted by SPECK’s commitment:
“Small and medium-sized enterprises, with their entrepreneurial spirit and innovative strength, are not only the backbone of our economy; they are also deeply rooted in the region through their strong social commitment and thus make an important contribution to society. SPECK Pumpen is aware of its social and societal responsibility towards the region and is a superb example of social commitment in action.”
Two days later, on 9 February, another cheque presentation took place at the Lebenshilfe nursery ‘Inklusives Haus für Kinder’ in Rollhofen.
Hermann Speck (Managing Director) and Daniel Speck (Head of International Relations and New Technologies) presented
the sum of 2,000 euros to Karin Tischner (Head of the Nursery), Kerstin Tichatschke (Head of Department), Sabine Schreier (Press Officer), Dennis Kummarnitzky (Managing Director) and Andreas Kurzer (Head of Department) from Lebenshilfe Nürnberger Land. Mayor Jens Fankhänel also made a point of attending the presentation and was delighted to see the sparkle in the eyes of the children present.
“The donation from the SPECK Pumpen Children’s Fund fulfils a long-held wish of ours. We have long wanted a cosy retreat and place to unwind that parents, children and our nursery team can all use equally. Thanks to SPECK’s generous donation, we can now make this a reality in the near future and purchase the necessary equipment,” said nursery manager Katrin Tischner.
Managing Director Dennis Kummarnitzky
also expressed his heartfelt thanks on behalf of Lebenshilfe Nürnberger Land, because:
“A quiet space for parents and children during the settling-in period is worth its weight in gold.”
The children expressed their excitement about the new area in their own way — they painted a poster depicting their vision of the quiet retreat and time-out space.

The most recent cheque presentation took place on 13 February at the AWO children’s centre ‘Villa Fabula’ in Speikern.
Daniel Speck (Manager of International Relations and New Technologies), Stefan Dörr (Head of Human Resources) and Mayor Jens Fankhänel were
warmly welcomed by Andrea Plewinski (Head of the Children’s Centre). She proudly presented the new, high-quality wooden playhouse, which had already been purchased for indoor use.
“As there is still some money left over from the donation, we’ll even be able to make another purchase for the summer, which we’re absolutely delighted about,”
said Andrea Plewinski. The children have asked for an outdoor mud kitchen for the garden. As soon as the temperatures rise, they’ll be able to have a proper splash about.
They’re already really
looking forward to it.
SPECK Pumps received a warm welcome from all the beneficiaries and is deeply moved by the overwhelmingly positive response, as well as the genuine joy and gratitude shown. This reinforces the company’s commitment to its social responsibility.
„"It fills me with great joy to see the tangible impact we have been able to make on the ground through our support. It is wonderful to see that the Children’s Fund is bringing a sparkle to the eyes of our youngest children in the region."“
