For industrial engineering designers

Planning with confidence

Technical data, performance curves and dimensional drawings for every model, available digitally. So that your pump specification is part of the project from the outset – rather than being added as an amendment later on.

What your planning really needs

As a designer, you are responsible for the design. These four points determine whether a pumping project runs smoothly:

Load-bearing design data
Performance curves, NPSH values and efficiency figures on which you can base your design – no approximations.
Mastering the right medium
Aggressive, hot or viscous fluids require the right choice of materials and seals. A standard pump is rarely sufficient in such cases.
Documents eligible for tender
Dimensional drawings, data sheets and tender documents must be complete and ready for reference once the deadline has begun.
A point of contact who thinks things through
When faced with unusual operating conditions, technical advice from experts who understand your specific application is essential.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions from planners

Pump design with SPECK: accurately designed, accurately documented, accurately specified.

Where can I find performance curves, dimensional drawings and tender documents?

Our SPECK Select design programme provides you with performance curves, dimensional drawings, product descriptions and tender specifications for the relevant pumps. Additional operating instructions and declarations of conformity can be found in the downloads section. If you require further information for your planning, our technical sales team will be happy to assist you.

Does SPECK supply pumps for corrosive or hot fluids?

Yes. Depending on the fluid being pumped and the operating conditions, a range of pump designs, materials and seal types are available. For heat transfer oils, for example, we offer suitable series for temperatures up to +350 °C. We will work with you to determine which design is best suited to your process.

Are project-specific modifications and custom designs possible?

Yes. Depending on the series, materials, seals and drives, for example, can be adapted to your requirements. Together, we will examine the technical options and develop a solution that is suited to the pumped medium, the operating conditions and integration into your plant.

How do I take the risk of cavitation into account during the planning stage?

It is crucial that the suction and inlet conditions match the pump’s NPSH requirement. Factors such as the fluid temperature, inlet pressure and pressure losses in the suction pipework must be taken into account. We can assist you in selecting a suitable pump and assessing your installation situation.

How does the design process work with SPECK Select?

You enter the flow rate, head and fluid, and the system provides you with the appropriate pump, complete with its performance curve and operating point – in a reproducible and documented manner.

What information does SPECK need for pump sizing?

Key factors include the fluid being pumped, flow rate, head, temperature and the suction or inlet conditions. Depending on the application, further details regarding viscosity, solids content or specific safety requirements may also be required. Based on this information, we can assist you in selecting the right pump. SPECK Select is available to help you with digital pump sizing.
