An empty indoor swimming pool with clear blue water, visible lanes and modern swimming pool technology for the water supply.

Pressurised water supply

We provide the pressure that powers your water treatment system.

Injectors require water at the correct pressure and flow rate. In chlorine gas dosing, this water flow creates the vacuum used to draw in the gas and introduce it into the water. A properly calibrated drive water supply thus provides the hydraulic basis for the reliable operation of the dosing system.

With the IN-VB series, SPECK offers multistage centrifugal pumps for the drive water supply to public swimming pools. The stainless steel hydraulic system caters for a range of pressure and flow requirements. The selection is made to suit the injector, the existing pressure conditions and the water quality. The result is a pump solution that integrates seamlessly into your treatment system and supports cost-effective plant operation.

Technical Specifications

The design is based on the injector’s water requirements, the pressure conditions and the properties of the fluid being pumped.

Interaction between the pump and the injector

The drive water pump provides the required water flow and pressure. In the injector, the accelerated water flow creates the vacuum required to draw in and mix the gas.

The following factors are taken into account in particular when selecting the pump:

  • Required drive water flow and inlet pressure at the injector
  • Available inlet pressure at the pump
  • Back pressure downstream of the injector
  • Pressure losses in pipework and fittings

The selection is based on the pump and injector performance curves.

IN-VB series multistage centrifugal pumps

The IN-VB is a vertical, normal-suction high-pressure centrifugal pump. Its multi-stage hydraulic design allows for the selection of different pressure stages to suit the specific operating point.

The design incorporates ceramic, wear-resistant and fluid-lubricated bearings, as well as a shaft seal in the form of a mechanical seal. The pumps are intended for clear liquids that do not chemically or mechanically attack the materials used.

Performance ranges and operating limits

Depending on the size and version, the IN-VB series offers the following range:

FeatureIN-VB series
Maximum flow rateUp to 160 m³/h
Maximum headUp to 250 m
Maximum operating pressureUp to 25 bar
Fluid temperature−15 to +100 °C

These specifications describe the range of the series. For the specific drive water supply, the performance curve and operating limits of the selected pump apply; the maximum values are not reached simultaneously.

Stainless steel and seals suitable for the medium

For sizes IN-VB 2 to 60, the casing, impellers and guide vanes are made of 1.4301 stainless steel. In the corresponding IN-VB-S versions, 1.4404 stainless steel is used for these components.

The standard version uses EPDM elastomers, whilst the S version uses Viton. The material combination of carbon/silicon carbide is specified for the mechanical seal. Other seal and elastomer versions are available on request.

The selection takes into account water composition, salinity and temperature.

Drive and connection options

The series is specified for 50 Hz with a rated speed of approximately 2,850 min⁻¹, motor protection class IP55 and insulation class F. Depending on the version, single-phase and three-phase motors are available; from 3 kW upwards, PTC thermistors are included.

Depending on the size and variant, oval flanges, round flanges or Victaulic connections are available. This allows the pump to be adapted to the intended pipework.
