Filter surfaces and filter unit
- BADU Quick: depending on the model, with 1, 2 or 4 filter cartridges and a filter area of 0.60, 1.20 or 2.40 m². The filter fineness is approximately 50 µm.
- BADU Star: depending on the model, with 12, 24 or 36 filter cartridges and a filter area of 7, 14 or 21 m². The filter fineness is approximately 50 µm.
- For sand filter systems, the choice of filter media is determined by the specifications of the respective system. The filter fineness of cartridge filters cannot be applied to sand filters.
ZIRKEL Filter Systems – Sizes and Specifications
With the filter systems from our subsidiary ZIRKEL, we offer filter technology in three sizes, which can be combined with suitable SPECK pool pumps.

The selection is based on the tank volume, the required circulation capacity and the system hydraulics.
- Robust tanks: glass-fibre-reinforced plastic with UV protection to prevent colour fading.
- Low-maintenance design: Two half-shells with a clamping ring allow easy access to the interior of the filter and make it simple to replace the filter media.
- Co-ordinated pump technology: Available as a filter system with a suitable self-priming pool pump; depending on the model, also with variable speed control.
- Versatile operation: Models with a 6-way valve for filtering, backwashing, rinsing, draining, circulation and shut-off.
- Various filter media: Suitable for quartz sand as well as alternative filter media such as filter glass or glass beads, in accordance with the relevant filling specifications.
Cleaning and operation
- Sand filter systems fitted with a suitable multi-way valve allow the filter bed to be cleaned by backwashing.
- Cartridge filters are maintained by removing and cleaning the filter cartridges.
- Speed-controlled complete systems such as the BADU Eco Star allow the pump output to be adjusted to the required operating point.
Materials and fittings
- Sand filter tanks made of glass-fibre-reinforced plastic.
- In these models, split tanks with a clamping ring facilitate access to the filter media.
- In the BADU Star, the parts in contact with the medium are predominantly made of glass-fibre-reinforced polypropylene.
- The BADU Eco Star combines a cartridge filter, fibre trap, transparent lid and pressure gauge in a single compact unit.
