Clear water flows powerfully from a swimming pool jet, ideal for efficient swimming pool technology from SPECK Pumps.

Pressure increase

When water demand rises, the pressure must be just right.

Whether for showers, sanitary facilities or technical consumers: in public swimming pools, water must be reliably available at the required pressure. Simultaneous water withdrawals, long pipework runs and insufficient supply pressure place particular demands on the system technology.
SPECK offers pressure-boosting solutions tailored to the water requirements and operating conditions of your swimming pool. Various designs are available, ranging from compact single-pump systems to controlled multi-pump systems. Speed-controlled systems adapt their flow rate to fluctuating demand and support cost-effective operation. The right combination of pumps, control systems and protective functions ensures a reliable water supply during day-to-day swimming pool operations.

Benefits of SPECK

Keep up the pressure. Meet demand. Secure supplies.

A reliable supply to meet fluctuating demand.

From individual consumers to centralised water supply systems: SPECK tailors pressure boosting, control systems and power reserves to your specific installation.

Stable pressure conditions
Speed-controlled systems adjust their flow rate to match the water withdrawal in order to maintain the set supply pressure.
Energy use tailored to demand
Adjusting the pump speed to match actual demand can reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
Planned supply reserve
Multi-pump systems allow for a configuration with a standby pump, which takes over the duties of an operational pump in the event of a failure.
Easy system integration
Compact systems that are pre-wired and pre-piped, ready for connection, reduce the amount of on-site installation work required.

Application

Water supply to shower and sanitary areas – supply to cleaning points – pressure boosting for technical consumers – domestic and service water supply with appropriate system separation – modernisation of existing water supply systems

Technical Specifications

The flow rate, supply pressure and control are adjusted to suit the connected loads and the prevailing inlet conditions.

Single-pump and multi-pump systems
  • Aquacell A: Automatic single-pump system with a normal-suction multistage centrifugal pump and constant speed.
  • Aquacell AE: Single-pump system with a motor-mounted frequency converter for demand-based speed control.
  • Multicell SFE: Multi-pump system with two to six normal-suction multistage centrifugal pumps and individual speed control for each pump. The number of pumps and the required reserve are taken into account during design.

The selection is determined by peak demand, the required supply pressure, the available inlet pressure and the requirements for supply reliability.

Performance ranges and operating limits
ParameterAquacell A / AEMulticell
Flow rateup to 160 m³/hup to 960 m³/h
Headup to 250 mup to 250 m
Fluid temperatureup to 50 °Cup to 50 °C
Operating pressureup to 25 barup to 16 or 25 bar, depending on the model

The specifications describe the limits of the respective series. Flow rate and head are selected on the basis of the performance curve for the specific operating point; the maximum values are not available simultaneously. In multi-pump systems, the intended reserve capacity must be taken into account separately.

Pressure control and safety functions

With the Aquacell AE, a pressure transmitter on the pressure side measures the supply pressure. The variable-speed drive regulates the pump speed according to demand.

Features include:

  • Automatic start-up and shut-down.
  • Electronic dry-run protection.
  • An 8-litre diaphragm pressure tank on the pressure side.
  • LED display and keypad on the variable-speed drive.
  • Bluetooth monitoring via a smartphone app.

Materials and media to be conveyed

The systems are suitable for clear liquids that do not cause chemical or mechanical damage to the materials used. Appropriate designs are selected for drinking water.

The following materials, amongst others, are used in the Aquacell A/AE series:

  • Pump casings and impellers made from 1.4301 stainless steel.
  • Piping and base frame made of 1.4301 stainless steel.
  • O-rings made of EPDM.
  • Mechanical seal in the material combination carbon/SiC/EPDM.

Special elastomers, specific mechanical seals and versions for higher fluid temperatures are available on request. Suitability for treated water, or water containing chlorides or salts, is assessed on the basis of the specific water composition.

Drinking water separation and replenishment

SPECK drinking water separation stations are available for applications requiring a separation between the drinking water mains and the downstream service water system.

The NTA A and NTA AE series combine a non-pressurised storage tank with an automatic pressure-boosting system. In the NTA AE series, the pressure boosting is frequency-controlled. Depending on the model, storage tanks with a capacity of 240 or 350 litres are provided.

The appropriate station is selected to suit the required system separation, the make-up water volume and the required outlet pressure.
