Drainage

Reliable drainage protects the very things that keep your swimming pool business running.

In plant rooms, pump shafts and collection tanks, any water that accumulates must be drained off in a controlled manner. Suitable pumping technology is also required for cleaning work, maintenance or unplanned water ingress. The decisive factors here are the volume of water, the required delivery head and the type of contaminants present.

SPECK offers submersible and sewage pumps for a range of drainage tasks in public swimming pools. From slightly contaminated water to more demanding fluids, various designs and impeller concepts are available. Models fitted with float switches enable automatic operation depending on the water level. Carefully selected materials and seals take account of the specific water conditions. In this way, our pumps support both continuous drainage and scheduled draining operations, as well as short-term applications.

Benefits of SPECK

Drain water. Protect equipment. Support operations.

Controlled drainage for your swimming pool facilities.

From the pump shaft to the planned discharge point: SPECK offers suitable solutions for wastewater and a range of drainage tasks.

Automatic operation
Models fitted with a float switch switch the pump on and off depending on the water level, thereby reducing the need for manual operation.
Suitable pump technology
Different impeller designs allow you to select a pump suited to the level of contamination and the properties of the fluid being pumped.
Protection for technical installations
The reliable drainage of any water that accumulates helps to minimise flooding and the resulting damage in technical areas.
Low residual water flow
With the optional flat suction device, the TOP 71 can empty the tank completely down to a water level of 3 mm.

Application

Drainage of plant rooms and pump shafts – Pumping from collection tanks – Disposal of waste water – Scheduled draining for cleaning and maintenance – Pumping out in the event of leaks or water ingress – Drainage of basement areas in swimming pool facilities

Technical Specifications

The flow rate, impeller passage and materials are selected to suit the volume of water, contaminants and installation conditions.

Submersible pumps for shafts and collection points

The TOP 71 and TOP 72–80 series are fully submersible stainless steel pumps designed for use with clean, turbid or slightly contaminated water containing no long-fibre particles.

Technical specificationsTOP 71TOP 72–80, depending on the model
Maximum flow rate10 m³/hup to 21.5 m³/h
Maximum head9 mup to 19 m
Fluid temperatureup to 50 °Cup to 50 °C
Impeller passage10 mm10 mm
Protection classIP68IP68

The selection is based on the required operating point. The maximum flow rate and maximum head cannot be achieved simultaneously.

A flat suction device is available for the TOP 71 to drain residual water down to 3 mm. This residual water level must be distinguished from the switching points of an automatic float-controlled system.

Level control and electrical fittings

Various motor types and control options are available for TOP 71 to TOP 74:

  • W: Alternating current, 1~ 230 V, without float-toggle switch.
  • WS: Alternating current, 1-phase 230 V, with float-toggle switch for automatic operation.
  • D: Three-phase current, 3~ 400 V, without float-toggle switch.

The TOP 80 is available as a three-phase version. AC variants feature built-in thermal overload protection. The pumps are supplied with a 10 m connection cable; AC versions with a Schuko plug, three-phase versions with a bare cable end.

Sewage pumps and specialised pumping applications

For applications with different requirements regarding the fluid being pumped and the installation, other pump designs are available:

  • SAW-S: Wastewater pumps with an open channel impeller and a fibre-cutting device for use in public swimming pools. The specific model is selected to suit the pumping application.
  • BADU 21-80/33 G-AK OL: Monobloc pump with an open impeller and a closed bellows mechanical seal. An intermediate lantern and labyrinth disc separate the seal chamber from the motor and protect the motor and bearings from leaking fluid as well as crystallising salts and minerals. The motor variant with a PTC sensor is suitable for operation with a compatible frequency converter.

Materials and water quality

The choice of materials takes into account not only contamination but also temperature, salinity and other constituents of the water.

  • TOP 71 and TOP 72–80: Pump casing, impeller and suction strainer made of 1.4301 stainless steel; O-rings made of NBR.
  • SAW-S 80-200: Grey cast iron casing, impeller made of the copper-tin alloy G-CuSn10 and stainless steel shaft.
  • BADU 21-80/33 G-AK OL: Pump casing made of glass-fibre-reinforced PPE, impeller made of glass-fibre-reinforced PP and mechanical seal made of SiC/FKM.

For media containing chlorides, salts or minerals, the resistance of all components in contact with the medium and the suitability of the seal are assessed on the basis of the specific water composition.
