Why water supply isolation systems are important

Drinking water isolation stations, also known as network isolation systems, protect the public drinking water network from contamination by non-potable water. They prevent water from connected non-potable water systems – such as industrial plants, irrigation systems, laboratory water supplies or livestock water supplies – from flowing back into the drinking water mains. They ensure a physical separation between the drinking water system and other water circuits, thereby preventing contamination. The DIN EN 1717 standard sets out the applicable hygiene regulations.
