In Bavaria, a client realised his dream: the construction of a light-filled indoor swimming pool with floor-to-ceiling glass fronts. The challenge was to provide pool technology that met the highest standards of design, quiet operation and efficiency, whilst blending discreetly into the space. SPECK supplied the counter-current system, pool control system and a speed-controlled circulation pump.
Background
An extension forming a single unit with the house
After extensive planning, a client in Bavaria realised a long-cherished dream: the construction of his own indoor swimming pool. The house and the swimming pool were to be perceived as a single unit – clear, simple and elegant. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows and sliding doors flood the space with light, whilst works of art collected whilst travelling add a special touch.
The focus was on the aesthetics of the pool. The technical requirements were correspondingly high: the system had to be powerful yet quiet – and blend harmoniously into the minimalist design rather than detracting from it.

The feeling of open water at 11 metres
The 11 × 4.5-metre pool is made of waterproof concrete with an EcoFinish coating, which combines waterproofing and surface finish in one. At the heart of the pool’s features is the BADU JET Turbo Pro counter-current system: with its efficient propeller technology, it achieves a flow rate of up to 350 m³/h and provides a challenge even for ambitious swimmers.
Seven power settings can be adjusted via sensor buttons or a remote control – suitable for every fitness level. The client particularly appreciates the natural current, which feels like swimming in open water. An integrated sauna with a floor-to-ceiling glass front overlooking the pool completes the indoor swimming facility.
Technology and Products
Intelligently controlled, quiet and economical
The BADU Blue Pro controls the pool: it measures and dispenses chlorine and pH treatment chemicals and – together with the BADU Omni actuator – controls the fully automatic backwashing of the filter system. The speed-controlled BADU Delta Eco VS circulation pump particularly impressed the client with its low power consumption and quiet operation. A heat exchanger and the BADU Blue Pro control system maintain the water temperature at a constant, ideal level.
