Vitamin kick – One of the many benefits at SPECK

Fruits are real power packets – just like our staff.

Every Tuesday since 12 July 2022, we have been providing a selection of different fresh fruits such as bananas, apples, pears, nectarines, grapes and much more for our employees.
The fruit is supplied by the local fruit and vegetable supplier Deuerlein in Lauf. The quickly emptying fruit baskets reflect the great success of this campaign. In addition to this new offer, there are already many different benefits at SPECK because people are always at the centre of everything we do. Therefore, values, professional and personal development, work-life balance and the compatibility of family and career play a major role when it comes to the satisfaction of our employees.
The good health of all colleagues is a top priority and is ensured by our company health scheme as well as the possibility of leasing a bicycle through Jobrad. Every year, various staff events, celebrations and team events are organised to ensure a positive mood and good team spirit, and on hot summer days, ice cream is delivered to cool everyone down. Flexitime and home office offer flexibility for everyday life. Special financial benefits in the form of a company pension scheme, payment for public transport tickets, corporate benefits as well as holiday and Christmas bonuses enable stable planning for the future and for all those who want to think outside the box, we offer a wide range of further training measures.

Apprentices taken on

Developing skilled workers for tomorrow at an early stage and integrating them into the company – that is the goal of the apprenticeship at SPECK Pumpen. In addition, we want to bind young people with all their accumulated know-how to our company. We are pleased that we were able to take on Alisa Rebmann and Alexander Pflaum, two of our apprentices who have completed their training as industrial administrators. The positions that were vacant at the end of their apprenticeships enabled both of them to find a place in their desired departments. Alisa was taken on in the export department and Alexander in the industrial technology sales department. We wanted to look back on the time since they were hired on 01.09.2019 and asked Alisa and Alexander a few questions about their training and the time that followed …

Alisa Rebmann (23)

Alisa first became aware of SPECK Pumpen at an apprenticeship fair. “After talking to Stefan Dörr, I knew that I wanted to do my apprenticeship in this company.” During her apprenticeship, she enjoyed going through the different departments the most and has now found her place in the export department. “I fit in well with the team and so my wish came true. Here I can contribute my ideas and develop professionally.” Part of her job is to write orders and prepare customs documents and supplier declarations. Alisa has already successfully completed a customs training course at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Alexander Pflaum (25)

“I’ve known SPECK for a long time because the company is near my parents’ house and I used to drive past it every day on my way to school”. He decided to train as an industrial administrator because he is good with numbers and was already interested in business studies at school. Regarding his training period at the company, Alexander says: “All in all, the training was varied and diverse. I think it’s good that SPECK takes on a lot of the apprentices and challenges them with responsible tasks.” Alexander is now employed in the industrial technology sales department and felt integrated right from the start. He is also responsible for customer service, clarifying technical questions and preparing offers. He particularly likes the direct contact with customers. He takes part in individual sales training sessions and sees himself in a responsible position in the company in the future.

SPECK Pumpen is committed to successfully contributing to the training of young people and to integrating them into the company in the long term. We wish our new colleagues all the best for their new tasks and challenges!

Future Perspectives

For SPECK Pumpen “training for the future” means above all the early promotion of specialist employees for tomorrow. In the future, the quality and innovative strength of a company will continue to be largely determined by the qualifications of its employees. For the young people themselves, the start of the apprenticeship is also a big step in their own personal future and into a long working life. We asked them what their hopes and wishes for their apprenticeship are and where they see themselves in 10 years …

Maurizio De Rosa (20) . Maurizio is motivated in his apprenticeship as a mechatronics engineer by the prospect of getting to know the different departments of the company better and therefore developing himself further for his future career. In 10 years, he would like to live a healthy and happy life in a house with his family and work in a responsible position at SPECK Pumpen.

Abdirahman Mohamud Mohamed (18) . “I enjoy learning something new every day. The more independently I can work, the more useful I feel for the company. My colleagues and bosses are great; hopefully it will stay that way.“ The trainee production mechanic wants to be married in 10 years, have children and his driver‘s license. In addition, he would like to have a good job and a safe life in Germany.

Fahim Najimi (17) . The trainee warehouse clerk is very pleased  about  his  apprenticeship  at SPECK Pumpen and that he can count on friendly and helpful colleagues. Fahim particularly likes the additional English  course  offered to apprentices. In 10 years, he sees himself as a well trained and experienced employee of SPECK Pumpen.

Alexander Pflaum (22) . The trainee industrial clerk said “I am pleased to have a diverse apprenticeship as a basis for further development and good promotion prospects at SPECK Pumpen”. In 10 years, he would like to be in a responsible but also varied position at SPECK.

Alisa Rebmann (20) . The trainee industrial administrator is pleased to have started her career in an innovative and internationally active company such as SPECK Pumpen. Her dream is to work at SPECK Pumpen in Jacksonville, USA in 10 years’ time. In spring, she was already able to conduct her own market research and test some pools personally…

Lucas Richter (15) . For Lucas, the apprenticeship as a production mechanic is associated with the hope of learning a lot and becoming more independent personally. But he is also happy to be earning his own salary. In 10 years, he would like to “hopefully still work at SPECK Pumpen, start a family and wait and see what the future will bring…“.

Biniam Temesgen (21) . “SPECK Pumpen is a great company and my colleagues are very nice. I think it’s especially cool that I can also learn English here,” is how the trainee warehouse clerk sums up his joy at his apprenticeship position. In 10 years, he would like to celebrate his 10 years’ service at SPECK and have the German citizenship. But his dream also includes a beautiful wife, two children, a nice apartment and a posh car.

Jakob Weller (19) . Jakob hopes that his apprenticeship as an industrial administrator will enable him to further his professional and private development and to grow in line with the tasks set for him. In 10 years, he wants to “stand on his own two feet and enjoy a healthy life.”

SPECK Pumpen is committed to successfully contributing to the education of these young people. As colleagues and people, we will accompany our newcomers on the way to their future aspirations and shape common future perspectives.

Greetings & farewells

Spare parts list

In the last weeks and months we were able to welcome four new employees to our company. Unfortunately we also had to say goodbye to four long-standing colleagues who have entered retirement.

Dario Dell’Anna . Sales, branch office Rodgau
The state-certified technician with previous training in plumbing, heating and air conditioning switched from the fire protection industry to SPECK pumps. He took over sales for Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate South and Saarland in the team at our Rodgau branch in October 2018.

Adam Müller . Industrial electrician
15 years ago, the electrician was involved in conversions in our company as a contractor. SPECK Pumpen seems to have made an impression as Adam Müller is now responsible for our building management and services. Although his focus is on electronics, he also checks the heating, sprinkler system, water supply and other inventory on a daily basis.

Andreas Neitz . Logistics/goods inwards
The logistics specialist is very varied in his work, from the incoming goods inspection to storage and retrieval, picking, inventory and equipping the production lines. The hobby motocross driver is motivated above all by the right time management. To ensure that the required material is at the right place at the right time and in the right quantity, he synchronises the production processes as precisely as possible.

Gerald Schwab . Technician cast iron pumps
The industrial mechanic is tasked with the assembly of casting pumps. This also includes painting and testing the finished products. Gerald Schwab has experience as a construction mechanic, product designer in the automotive industry and adjuster and operator in a light metal foundry. At SPECK Pumpen he especially enjoys the working atmosphere and the flexibility in the team. A special challenge for him is the high degree of individuality of the pumps.

Retirement farewells
With a heartfelt thank you for their many years of loyalty to SPECK Pumpen and their daily commitment over many years, we bid farewel to our colleagues entering their well-deserved retirement. Lorenz Kopp has worked for our company since 2003 – most recently in the production planning department. Heinz Kreuz was employed in our BADUJET production for over 41 years. Sonja Maskow was taken on in the SPECK Pumpen Hamburg branch in 2017. Previously, however, she belonged to the SPECK Pumpen representation E. C. von Karstedt for almost 20 years and was thus always part of our company. Karin Schlick started in our accounts department 28 years ago and has been a member of the data maintenance team since the changeover to the new merchandise management programme.
